Cryologistics is passionate about developing technologies to reduce GHG, noise, pollution, energy usage, food waste and disposable packaging. Our passive CO2 cooled transport refrigeration units will contribute to a global progression on achieving these goals by revolutionizing the way the cold chain packages, stores and transports temperature-sensitive goods.

We are seeking a self-motivated Product Testing Engineer to apply their experience, creativity, organizational ability, and get-it-done attitude to the company’s product design, development and manufacturing team. You will ensure that our transport refrigeration products fulfill the use-case requirements of our industry partners. The right candidate will have experience in planning, executing and documenting test programs for both laboratory and field trial prototypes; will engage effectively with third parties for certification and compliance testing, and is comfortable coaching and mentoring young technicians and engineering interns.

Position Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Lead Product Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing test plans in support of product verification
  • Choosing and sourcing instrumentation and equipment needed in support of development activities
  • Developing the testing procedures
  • Developing test fixtures and test benches as needed
  • Ensuring the execution of the test plans
  • Ensuring that the tests can be conducted safely
  • Ensuring the documentation of the tests and test results
  • Identifying and engaging with third-parties for tests that cannot be conducted internally
  • Participating in engineering activities such as design reviews, DFMEA
  • Participating in failure analysis and reporting
  • Directing, supervising and evaluating selected testing activities performed by junior technical people or by sub-contractors
  • Contributing development activities information to project Gantt charts, budgets and expenditure forecasts
  • Contributing development activities progresses, budget control and risk management reports for presentation to the management team

Minimum qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics degree from a recognized university
  • Five years workplace experience in industrial product testing
  • Experience with instrumentation and testing of structural assemblies, heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Agile with wide variety of sensors and data acquisition systems
  • An excellent understanding of precision, accuracy, statistics and data visualization
  • A strong grasp of thermodynamic, structural mechanics and heat transfer
  • Comfortable with hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Ability to create Process & Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Good communication, presentation and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage with colleagues, management team, customers, and suppliers

The following attributes will be given preferential consideration:

  • Comfort with design and manufacturing of test fixtures
  • Experience with LabVIEW software
  • DOE (design of experiments) experience
  • Professional Engineer (PEng.) designation
  • Experience with refrigeration and HVAC technologies and products
  • Experience with mobile applications products
