We are seeking a self‐motivated Product Assembly and Testing Technologist to apply their experience, creativity, and get‐it‐done attitude to the company’s product design, development and manufacturing team. You will ensure that our transport refrigeration products fulfill the use‐ case requirements of our industry partners. The right candidate will have experience in interfacing and communicating with external suppliers of sub‐assemblies, the development of efficient and scalable assembly processes, and rapid problem‐solving, improvement and testing of prototypes.

Position Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Lead Product Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the fabrication of our prototypes through engagement with external machine shops and sub‐assembly providers
  • Contribute to the development of the internal assembly processes for our prototypes
  • Designing and performing improvements to existing prototypes
  • Designing and fabricating test rigs for our prototypes
  • Install instrumentation needed for testing
  • Conduct experimental and field tests of our prototypes Minimum qualifications:
  • An engineering technologist’s degree
  • Five years workplace experience in product development
  • Hands on experience with metal fabrication
  • Comfortable with hands‐on mechanical and electrical assemblies
  • Experience with instrumentation
  • Ability to design and fabricate test fixtures
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to positively engage with colleagues, management team, customers,and suppliers

 

The following attributes will be given preferential consideration:

  • Machine shop experience
  • Experience with refrigeration and HVAC technologies and products
  • Experience with high pressure gas and liquid piping
  • Experience with mobile applications products
  • Forklift license
