CryoLogistics Secures B.C. Fast Pilot Program Funding
[Victoria, BC – September 23, 2020]: CryoLogistics Refrigeration Technologies Ltd. (CryoLogistics) is pleased to announce participation in the B.C. Fast Pilot Program funded by Innovate BC in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). Under the B.C. Fast Pilot Program, CryoLogistics will receive advisory services and research and development funding from Innovate BC and NRC IRAP to support a project that will demonstrate CryoLogistics’ innovative SnowSHIP™ transport refrigeration unit, a purpose-built clean technology for shipping high-value temperature-sensitive freight.
“The B.C. Fast Pilot Program funding enables potential customers to trial the SnowSHIP™ technology in real world conditions throughout British Columbia and join us in reinventing the cold chain logistics industry,” says Peter Evans, CEO at CryoLogistics. Evans continued, noting that “over 30% of perishable food produced for human consumption spoils inside the supply chain and ends up in landfills where it decomposes and generates significant greenhouse gas emissions. Also, the conventional diesel-powered transport refrigeration units now in use are fundamentally no different from those first introduced in the 1950s, each one generating up to 3 metric tonnes of emissions every year. We are committed to developing innovative solutions that improve temperature integrity, reduce food waste and decrease reliance on fossil fuels.” Summarizing his thoughts, Evans stated, “We are determined to reinvent the cold chain and are delighted to receive support from Innovate BC and NRC IRAP” in that effort.”
CryoLogistics is a Victoria, BC-based clean technology company developing an IoT enabled, naturally refrigerated shipping solution for the transportation industry.
